The getting ready pictures are such an important part of the wedding day, and it really is the foundation to the story that I am photographing. In this image, the bride, Sarah, is being helped into her dress by her mother. These are some really beautiful moments that I know they will both look back on. I choose black-and-white here, as I often do with moments, because I feel that it has a timeless look and a feeling of nostalgia.
When I photograph the getting ready pictures, I try to use natural window light, which creates a beautiful look. I would prefer not to set off flash, or use any continuous lights during these moments as to not intrude.
