This picture was taken at the Lake in Central Park in New York City.
As I was walking through the park with Yael and Justin during their engagement session, I looked over towards the water and saw some absolutely beautiful light and knew this would be a beautiful spot for a few pictures. I had the two of them stand in the light and just have a moment together and it turned out beautifully.
I find it's important to give couples direction during their portraits but it's also important to allow them to do their own thing as well. Having an engagement session allows your photographer to know how you and your partner interact which comes into play for your portraits on your wedding day. Really, it's a great warm up and allows you to build rapport with your photographer.
